Division 1,2,3 Forum Review
The Second Meet The Candidates Forum hosted by LSARA on September 28th was another resounding success. This time Division One, Divisions 2 and 3 were invited. Lorne Olsvik Division 1 (acclaimed) Division 2 Mel Fundytus, Bob Clark, Nick Gelych and Brad Javorsky.
Absent for Division 2, the incumbent and Mayor Bill Hegy. All the candidates took the time to participate yet even though Bill Hegy did not attend the Forum, he sent his personal flyers to be distributed at a forum that he declined to attend.
Division 3 candidates were both present, George Vaughan and Incumbent Wayne Borle .
The questions that were previously provided to the Candidates were once again asked by the evenings moderator Dale Johnson. Dale did a terrific job of providing the flow for the evening.
The Forum began with a presentation by Sarah Healy, one of the candidates for Ward One Northern Gateway Public Schools. The other candidate, Corinne Branting - Feth was unable to join us due to a trip that was planned many months prior.
Sarah provided her biography and closed by asking the attendees to support her. There was some confusion as to who may vote for the school trustees. LSARA has obtained and shared a map for your perusal as well as the poll areas, dates and times. Please ensure you also vote for your school trustee.
The Advance Polls are October 13 and 14 at the Onoway Heritage Centre.
Election Day is October 16 and will be at the Onoway Legion and the Stettin-Nakamun Hall
Please not the time is different for the Stettin-Nakamun Hall - it starts at 9:00 a.m.
The second Forum concludes the opportunities for many of the candidates to address a large group. Most of the candidates are working on a door to door approach now with their campaigns.
