TODAY IS THE DAY FOR CHANGE

TODAY IS THE DAY FOR CHANGE

Today is the day we all go to the polls to choose who we want to represent us for the next four years. All five incumbents are seeking reelection.

Mayor Hegy is seeking a second term for Division 2. Ever wonder how a BRAND NEW Councillor gets the top job? We sure have.
Lloyd Giebelhaus is seeking his 4th term as representation for Division 7. Ross Bohnet is seeking his second term for Division 6. Wayne Borle is seeking his third term for Division 3. The only Division seat won by acclimation was Division 1 Lorne Olsvik. There are a number seeking election to fill the two seats that remained vacant in Divisions 4 and 5 as the current Council and Administration didn't feel it was important to have all Divisions represented.

"When you change the way you look at things, The things you look at change. " author Wayne Dyer.

I think what we are all looking for is that Paradigm Shift. A serious fundamental change in how things are viewed. Thomas Kuhn describes a paradigm as a set of beliefs, theories, or a world view that is unquestionably accepted and has become established as "truth" fair to say that the Lac Ste Anne Ratepayers are beyond just accepting the information that has been put forward by Council and Administration.

We have shown time and time again that most of what "appears " on the LSAC website and in the pages and pages of advertising is only part of the information. The best example of that is the Farmers Report that was just commissioned by Council and Administration. The consultant was provided only what they wanted them to see. Only what they wanted them to base their report on.
One thing we know for sure is if we continue with the way things are currently, relationships will continue to erode or cease to exist all together. If we review some of the published candidates brochures, there are many references to the work of consultants. Most of which are economists, ex MLA's, people who sell their opinions on how things should run. The Municipal Government provides workshops on how things should work. The Municipal Government Act is the governing documents for municipalities such as LSAC.

LSARA urges all eligible residents of the County of Lac Ste Anne to get out and vote. If you can't be the change we all want to see, then make sure you VOTE for the change you want to see.
