LAND USE BYLAW AMENDMENTS "REALLY???? MONTHS BEFORE AN ELECTION????"

Open Houses:     July 30th 1-3 Gunn Hall and Aug. 30th 5-8 - Darwell Hall

LSARA Posted on June 23 2017

"WHAT THEY TOLD YOU THEN and WHAT THEY SAY NOW"

Then:
Bill Hegy, Lac Ste. Anne County mayor, said "council’s remaining agenda for its term is not so large that it requires additional Councillors".
“It’s not like we have been discussing things like we have in the past with the land use bylaw,” Hegy said.
Now

Hegy Now Said,

"such a change should only be made with a full, seven-member council in place."
“We're actually kind of ... slapping the residents of Division 4 and 5 in the face by saying the Councillors from the other divisions will now decide what makes up your division”
Hegy Now Said.
“It is mandatory that the people from those divisions have an equal say in the outcome (of division realignment)".

Really? No Kidding, that's what the ratepayers told you before you voted against a BY-ELECTION!! NOW YOU WANT TO CHANGE THE LAND USE BYLAW JUST BEFORE THE ELECTION????

1. At what point does Council believe it is time that ALL ratepayers are fairly represented?

2. These new bylaws or proposed changes to bylaws and their corresponding open houses should be CANCELLED until after the new council is elected and sworn in.

3. Allowing garages to be built on vacant lots will just create the SAME ISSUES as are currently contentious with the RV BYLAW. Adjoining counties have regulations that stipulate owners cannot 'Live' in garages.

4. It does not appear that the PROPOSED AMENDMENTS are being discussed in council meetings. Are they once again being offered options previously agreed to by Administration and only select council?

5. Municipal Affairs should NEVER have allowed the changes to the boundaries without representation to all seven divisions.

6. Administration has indicated they are going to send POSTCARDS to all those affected by boundary changes. Another waste of taxpayers money!
