The Internet Highway of Information, The SUPERNET

Everyday we see more and more people trying to work with their internet providers. The rural customers are paying for HIGH SPEED and in most situations getting NO SPEED!

The information superhighway is what we use to perform work from a distance, communicate with our family and friends, stay abreast of the latest news, play games and for social interaction. YOU as a Ratepayer have invested many tax dollars into the Supernet.
The County of Lac Ste Anne has funded three towers for over a million dollars each. There are paying customers on those towers but the problem is the costs to maintain them outweighs the revenue. In addition, the end use product that many of you receive for internet is very poor as there are oversubscribed towers.

Why aren't they on the towers we paid for? Well, because we don't have economic development to obtain these contracts. Why do we still have dead zones with our cell phones in Lac Ste Anne County? We have three towers.....because the agreements haven't been obtained. Do you see a trend here?

We pay for a product as a Ratepayer. We don't get what we pay for as our Council and Administration clearly don't understand how to run a business. When you operate a successful business, you have a product. You sell the product and you service your customers with the money you collect from the sale of said product.

Happy customers refer you to your new customers, additional Ratepayers and business owners. This is the cycle that must exist in order to be successful as a County.  Our success as a County is dependent on how we are managed, our reputation, what we have to offer.

The diagram of the Supernet shows a business that is dependent on cooperation between the provider, the infrastructure and the end user.

Much like the structure of a County. Council and administration are running our business. We are all codependent and in order for us to work together, we have to be able to communicate from one "tower" to another . There cannot be any "dead zones".  This is not how Council and Administration work with you, the Ratepayers. They put up fences and use the Municipal Government Act , the very Act designed to administer and encourage cooperation, and interpret it to their way of thinking.

This is Counterproductive to All!

LSARA has been  actively working to obtain current budget information, Landfill information, RV bylaw information and more. We encourage you to like, follow, share and see first on our Face Book page Lac Ste Anne Ratepayers Association which also connects to our Blog.

Our next meeting is Saturday, May 27th at  11 am in Darwell at the Seniors Centre. Your voice counts and we appreciate all of your support. Memberships will be available for $10 each or $20 per family. As we are a registered society, we are able to provide a receipt for any donations. Please plan on attending.
