WE NEED YOUR SUPPORT TODAY
LSARA as many of you know is in the process of conducting two petitions that will hopefully result in the opportunity for all of us to exercise our democratic right. The right to vote on two separate bylaws. One that would allow the County Administration and Council to borrow a million dollars and the second that would allow Council and Administration to lend the million dollars.
Don’t let anyone tell you that LSARA is a vigilante group, a band of misfits or hard to get along with. If we were, we would have already wrapped these petitions up.
How? Well we wouldn’t have given the benefit of doubt to Council and Administration in hopes that they would answer our letter where we asked for public consultation.
We lost two weeks where we could have been conducting the petitions. We just made it more difficult on ourselves by trying to work collaboratively.
The last couple of weeks have been jammed with a Provincial election and then Family gatherings for Easter. Seems a bit contrived these bylaws being announced when there are so many other distractions doesn’t it? Maybe the hope was none of the Ratepayers would notice. Well we did.
Add to that the extreme measures that were put forward this past weekend in attempts to thwart our efforts to get to the places with the most people in one place, the transfer stations owned by you and me. The email sent the County officers directly to the transfer stations we were at. Friday at Hillcrest, Darwell, Saturday at Onoway, Sunday at Rich Valley.
We were told that it was not the place to gather signatures. WHY NOT? Well, simply because they were instructed to not allow it. There is no bylaw preventing our right to petition. There is a real issue here.
We continue to collect signatures but we are getting very close to the last opportunities to sign. If you live in the County of Lac Ste Anne, are eligible to vote, you are able to sign. Let’s send a very strong message that we aren’t happy with the lack of transparency and no public consultations.
On May 1, 2019 LSAC will push thru this Borrowing Bylaw for a $1 Million Dollar Loan to START their New Development Corporation WITH YOUR TAX DOLLARS!
- Market Impact Analysis- A Market Impact Analysis is not required as Legacy MLC will be pursuing only projects where the return
on investment is too low to attract private developers and capital investment.
- Staffing Risk- Legacy MLC will be relying heavily on the staffing support provided by Lac Ste. Anne County.
- Revenue Risk
Legacy MLC- Uncertainties regarding yields, rent levels, sales price levels, inflation and interest rate levels,
absorption, demand and supply could impact the financial performance of projects.
- Cashflow Risk
Legacy MLC- Is undertaking a Community Economic Development approach that prioritizes obtaining
earned revenue to offset the cost of its activities. In the short term, cash flow may be insufficient to
meet required payments of principal and interest, and to pay operating expenses.
Only this Petition can Stop the Borrowing

Rather than cooperate and become transparent - THE COUNTY OBSTRUCT OUR DEMOCRATIC RIGHT TO PARTITION and a public hearing. WHAT ARE THEY AFRAID OF? Why the secrecy? Why does a local government want to compete with local businesses instead of initiating incentives? Why too many unanswered questions.
ReplyDeleteThis council is getting out of hand, our residents must wake up. The consequences if these bylaws passes unopposed/unscrutinized/unexplained could be devastating for the county tax payers in the future, as the liabilities are ours.
