RV or NO RV Another type of "Recreational User"

Letter to LASRA

When we purchased our land in 2013 the owner  had 2 RVS parked on bare land.  I specifically asked him is this ok and he said oh it is fine but feel free to call the county. (Thank god) I did call the county and was told under no circumstances could we just park our RV there.

We did buy the land and we followed the rules.  From development & building permit, inspections and bought a permanent building. At the time we did not know that our neighbor has 5+ RVs and no permanent building.  They have a campground in my eyes.
We were upset when we found out as we were trying to be law abiding citizens and then next door we have those that think they are above the law.
We bought this land to have a place to unwind, have quiet family time, and just enjoy what nature has to offer.  When its full at my neighbors there is no peace and quiet to be had. Between the adults, kids and barking dogs – we might as well stay in the city.
I recently spoke with Tanya at the county and she told me our land is CRX (existing country residential). To me residential is just that residential.
My neighbors should be looking at land in `Recreational` areas or opening a campground elsewhere.
I think the County has to start making people accountable or this will never end. I have reported this to the county and nothing has been done, it has been over a year.
As far as CRX land I think that everyone should have a permanent building and be allowed 1 RV. This is what I was told when we bought. If people are allowed 4 then it’s going to be exactly what my neighbor is doing now.
The final result is we have NO quiet enjoyment of our land ever. We try to spend every weekend from May-October and 3 weeks in the summer at our property.
We love it out there and enjoy all the markets, Onoway,  Alberta Beach, Pembina River etc.   It has come to the point where my daughter and I don`t want to go anymore.   If this noise and RV infractions  continue we will have no choice but to sell.
PLEASE ATTEND THIS WEDNESDAY'S MEETING
