The Petition

The Petition to The Minister Of Municipal Affairs is the TOP DEAD CENTER of the Lac Ste. Anne Ratepayers Association Focus and our first most requested "HOT TOPIC" to be released.

With 2543 Signatures Submitted from the Electorate of Lac Ste. Anne County this is a Hot Topic that needed to be addressed as we feel the residents of Lac Ste. Anne County Deserve an explanation as to why our Alberta Municipal Affairs REFUSED the WISHES of the Electorate when we requested them to conduct an "Inquiry into the Affairs of the Municipality of Lac Ste. Anne County" as per Section 572 of the Municipal Government Act of Alberta Canada.

This was an answer that we could not possible provide with the responses that we have received to date from the Honourable Danielle Larivee, Alberta Minister of Municipal Affairs without first Verifying the "FACTS".

The petition was delivered to the Assistant Deputy Minister Gary Sandberg on October 2, 20115 and declared as received by The Minister of Municipal Affairs on October 5th of 2015 as per the communications listed below, from the Honourable Minister Danielle Larivee.

It is important to note  that when the petition was delivered the Minister of Municipal Affairs the Minister was in fact Deon Bilous. Danielle Larivee was given the portfolio on October 22, 2015. Fast forward to January 19, 2017 and Larivee is now replaced by the present Minister of Municipal Affairs, the Honourable Shaye Anderson.

Already in this short time frame we have had to deal with Three (3) different Ministers of Municipal Affairs. It has been very difficult to maintain continuity with communications.

We asked for the Names of the Petitioners that were Excluded by the CAO appointed by the Honourable Minister of Municipal Affairs Danielle Larivee for the purpose of determining the "Sufficiency of the Petition" as well as what was the "Criteria Utilized" and how did they "Validate their Information".

Sixteen (16) Months Later we are still waiting for this information.

It was deemed absolutely imperative to proceed with an Official FOIP Request to both the Alberta Municipal Government and Lac Ste. Anne County in order to obtain the information necessary to "Identify and Verify" that the 558 Electorate Signatures that were "EXCLUDED" from our Petition were indeed valid exclusions.

The FOIP Request was Submitted April 4, 2016 and to this date February 12, 2017 we have STILL NOT received all the Information that we had Requested. On February 9, 2017 we were assured by a
Alberta Municipal Affairs Access and Privacy Advisor that the information that was not included in our first package has been instructed by the CAO to be put together and we should receive it within the week.

The conclusion of our review of the "558 EXCLUDED ELECTORS" will be posted as soon as we receive the Documentation that was Requested from Alberta Municipal Affairs and it can be verified as in fact, "Justified Exclusions".

We will be updating this page starting today with the history of this "HOT TOPIC" as the information can be compiled and posted. You will be informed by Facebook if you have Followed our Page as the updates are made.

Please be sure to "Follow" our Facebook Page and set the preference of the follow to "SEE FIRST" to ensure you receive the updates.

Welcome to the First of Many updates to this "HOT TOPIC"
