Without the support of the Community it is not feasible to sustain such an undertaking. We are currently looking for support and / or memberships into the organization. Volunteers through memberships are always encouraged as this organization faces a huge uphill battle in:
1. Obtaining the “Hot Topics” of the undertakings of our Council and Administration
2. Investigation into these Topics
3. Giving back the information to our public forum
4. Working together to make changes.
We will hopefully grow the organization membership to a point of sub committees to help look at items brought forward. We will be transparent in sharing all that we have obtained. The NEW Facebook Page and Blog is a great way of staying informed so please “Like” and “Follow” our page. Attending the meetings, both East and West, are another great way of staying with us on topics of concerns and resolutions. You can also submit your email address and request the latest information be sent to you. Many ways of staying in touch.
We are not surprised to the "behind the scenes issues" that have been brought forth to us already and encourage you to bring these issues to our attention because "We Care". We now have a Platform in The Lac St. Anne and Communities Ratepayers Association, to deal with these issues. The New "Continuing the Conversation" recently published by the Municipal Government and our ability to possible influence some of those changes makes the continuation and growth of the Lac Ste. Anne and Communities Ratepayers Association Imperative.
In the first two meetings on September 19th and November 29th at the Onoway Heritage Center and at the recent meeting in Sangudo, attendance exceeded all expectations. Our Membership has grown substantially during these three meetings and we look forward to future growth.
Our relations, we believe, have improved and invitations for attendance sent out to Lac Ste. Anne County Councilors and Administration were pleasantly responded to with attendance. Representatives from Community Councils in Alberta Beach and Val Quentin in the first meeting and Lorne Olsvik, Division 1 in the second meeting. We also received responses from Councilors:
Lorne Olsvik Divison 1
Wayne Borle Division 3
Ross Bohnet Division 6
Lloyd Giebelhaus Division 7
who all wrote emails of regret for not being able to attend meeting 3 as they had a previous engagement at the ASB conference. This relationship between our organization and the County Council has seen great improvement since our inception only 5 month ago this February 2017.
