DRAFT BUDGET TO BE PRESENTED IN TODAY'S
LSAC MARCH 29 2018 COUNCIL MEETING
Today is the day LSAC Council will discuss the official release of the LSAC 2018 Draft Budget in their regular scheduled council meeting. What they choose to do with it is to be seen. LSARA has reviewed the Draft Budget Proposal as prepared by Administration and has some initial observations for the Ratepayers of LSAC to be advised of, as would be anticipated.
- 3.5% INCREASE IN THE TAX RATE as per the New Tax Rate BY-LAW 07-2018
- 80 MILLION DOLLAR INCREASE 4.3% IN THE 2018 LSAC ASSESSMENT ROLL
- 2.25 MILLION INCREASE 72% in MSI 2018 FUNDING
As you can clearly see with the increases in "REVENUE" why would LSAC require a 3.5% increase in the "Tax Rate" for 2018. That is question that we have asked and are waiting for a response.
Stay tuned for Updates and Changes as they develop on the 2018 LSAC Budget. Council will be tackling this Budget in the upcoming week as they are the deciding factor in how the
Ratepayers Money is SPENT!

This should come as no surprise as the previous council insisted in pissing away money on an administration building that was more than we needed. Now they have to fill it up with more staff. Payroll is increasing by $340,000, or so I have heard. Question what the hell is a financial technician? And why do we need one? How about we cut Primeau's wages, seeing as he has to have an assistant to help him do the crummy job he has been doing since Syzbunka was pushed out.
ReplyDeleteActually its $380,000 +/- increase in wages which amounts to 13% increase 2017 TO 2018. If you really want a shock, look back at the 2014 wages and the gross increases since!!!
